I also beat Like a Dragon last year and loved every moment of its long run time. It was so unique and refreshing focusing on underdog characters of society with a JRPG twist! I'm 30hr in Metaphor rn as well and loving it.
The underdog nature of Like a Dragon was one of my favorite accepts of it too! Ichi and co are just such a likable cast of characters that you're not just desperate to see them succeed but it's actually sad to see them fail. Not many games are good at doing that and Like a Dragon does it wonderfully. Metaphor does it to some extent but they don't really feel like underdogs the whole time while Ichi and co always feel like underdogs. Metaphor is also still amazing though, i hope you enjoy the rest of the game!
Yes the cast was so relatable so I was attached to them more than any JRPG where it's the usual teenager cause they were all just dealing with life and authority. I can't wait to play the 2nd! After Metaphor which is looking like a loong game too lol
